Disney Story for Vogue Japan

I cannot get enough of this Ah-Mazing Disney Fashion story for Vogue Japan’s April 2014 issue!!

The spread stars Georgia May Jagger and Chiharu in over the top Disney attire frolicking the land of Disney in none other than Paris of course! The story was shot by Italian photographer Giampaolo Sgura and style by the always playful and eccentric fashion editor, Anna Dello Russo. (who couldn't be more perfect for this fun kind of spread).

Disney + Fashion = EVERYTHING!

Meet "Mayhem", the talent behind Instagram page @2sisters_angie - be warned, she is not your typical 4 year old girl. Seriously?! I am blown away! Maybe when this little diva grows up she will be designing amazing gowns for Hollywood upcoming fashion elite like Blue Ivy & North West.

Sharon and Kelly Osbourne MAC Collection

We’ve mentioned before how Lipstick is a huge beauty trend this year and how obsessed we are with Rihanna’s collaborations with mega beauty retailer, MAC Cosmetics. Well, ever since she launched her final collaboration with the beauty brand, with the Viva Glam lipstick in January, we’ve been craving more! Luckily, following in her footsteps as celebrity brand ambassadors are mom and daughter duo, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne! We know just how much Sharon loves her makeup and we can’t get enough of Kelly’s unique style, so we were thrilled to hear that they’d be launching a summer MAC collection in June!

Today the lovely ladies posted their first official photos from the campaign and we love what we are seeing so far! Sharon looks fabulous with an amazing nude lip and brown shadow to compliment her gorgeous green eyes and make them go Pop! While Kelly’s smokey purple eyeshadow to match her signature do’, and perfectly peachy nude lip are everything! We cannot wait to see the full collection!

From a young age when girls start to experiment with makeup and walk in mom’s high heels for fun to when girls become teenagers and we teach them our beauty tricks all the while building confidence and fostering self-esteem, there is definitely a special bond a mother and daughter have when it comes to beauty. Just one more reason we love MAC for choosing both Kelly and Sharon to collaborate on this collection with as a mother daughter duo. Plus how much does Kelly look like her mum in the campaign photo? #twinsies

Are you as excited for this collection as we are?

Be a Buddy, Not a Bully - Pink Shirt Day 2014

As you must know by now, bullying has become a national epidemic that affects thousands of children worldwide. We have seen it in schools forever and with the advances in technology, and social media, today, bullying has reached a dangerous new level.

Tomorrow, Wednesday February 26th is Pink Shirt Day! A day where kids and parents alike are encouraged to wear pink to help raise awareness for anti-bullying. The day was created in 2007 by David Shepherd and Travis Price, two high school students in Nova Scotia who bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after a ninth grade student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school.

This year, our favourite toy store, Toys R Us Canada, is proudly taking a stand against bullying and supporting Pink Shirt Day in all of their stores across Canada with their “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully” Pink Shirt Day campaign.

Last week we shared with you via social media, a Family Play Day event Toys R Us held last Saturday with games, crafts and activities, where they gave away 100 free pink t-shirts in each store for kids to wear on Pink Shirt Day. If you had the chance to make it, you and your kids are already prepared! If not, that’s ok too! Just take a look in your closet, because any pink shirt will do! And if you don't have anything already, here are a few last minute options for the whole family..

Clockwise from left:
1. Eversoft cardigan, Gap, $21.99, 2. Toddler Boy Gingham Shirt & Necktie Set, Old Navy, $22.94,
3. Men's Cotton European Fit Shirt, Le Chateau, $79.95, 4. Top with Smock Collar, Zara, $49.90,
5. Official Pink Shirt Day T-Shirt, PinkShirtDay.ca, $9.80, 6. Girls Anti-Bullying Graphic Tee, Children's Place, $5

As parents of young children it is important to us to spread awareness around this epidemic, because anyone can easily become a target of bullying. Did you know that 85% of bullying takes place in front of others but when somebody stands up to bullying, while it’s taking place, it’s likely to stop within 10 seconds of intervention? It is our job as parents to teach our kids, not only to not be the bully, but to be brave enough to stand up for each other against bullying and do the right thing, just like the boys in Nova Scotia did for their fellow student.

Join us and Toys R Us Canada tomorrow and make a REAL fashion statement! Wear pink, have your kids wear pink, tell your co-workers to wear pink and help spread awareness and take a stand to support anti-bullying!

We want to see you show your support! Share your Pink Shirt Day pictures with us on Instagram using the following hashtags:

A Family Affair - The Victoria Beckham Fashion Show

It was a family affair at the Victoria Beckham Fall 2014 runway show in New York yesterday! The designer mom was accompanied by her entire fashionable family, including soccer stud David Beckham and their four gorgeous children, Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, almost 9, and Harper, 2½. Looking incredibly posh and polished, the family joined Victoria backstage before taking their seats in the front row to enjoy the show. Keeping it all in the family, the Beckhams even sat next to Vogue’s editor in chief, Anna Wintour who attended the show with her daughter, Bee Shaffer.

The collection was mostly black and white, with just the tiniest hint of colour, focusing on structured designs with a splash of femininity through an emphasis of pleats and ruffles.

See the whole collection at Style.com

Before the show began, The fashion mum even took to Instagram to share a pic of a lovely note her husband and kids left her, wishing her good luck with the show! How sweet is that? I love seeing this tight knit Hollywood family who is always there to support one another, just as any family should. Its nice to see such a high profile couple still going strong after 15 years of marriage and exemplifying the importance of family with their four kids.

Between the Victoria Beckham collection, David's H&M bodywear line for both men and kids and their son Romeo's budding modelling career, we can only imagine what to expect next from this fabulous fashion family.

What do you think of the collection?

Jenny Is Back On The Block!

Jenny is back on the block!

Sexy mom J-Lo debuted the video for her latest hit "Same Girl" and while I like the video, I'm not so convinced that she really is that same girl. In the video Jenny poses with her 'friends', strolls down the streets of the Bronx and even hops on the train just like the good old days. Only difference is the designer clothes and jewelry that, without a doubt, cost more than my yearly salary. Don't get me wrong, she worked hard to get to where she is and should be proud, but then why boast about being that same Jenny from the block? Why not accept that you've grown and become a different person? I mean, none of us are the same girl we were 10 years ago, hell I'm not the same girl I was 2 years. Motherhood, careers, living life: it changes you and for the better I might add!

"This was probably the craziest thing I've done in my career of music and movies," Lopez said. “I called my girlfriends and some photographer friends. We just grabbed a camera, jumped on the train, left the city and ran around the Bronx. We found some interesting places that captured the essence of what it was like to live there and made me remember the simplicity of life I used to have there. The rest was real life." That does sound super fun though. Who doesn't like reminiscing with old girlfriends, right? Regardless of the fact that she might be having a mid-life crisis, we can't deny that she looks amazing! I'm talking super fantastic, gorgeous, flawless type of amazing. I am in love every single look from the video, hot hot hot!

Check out the video below and tell me, do you think she's just the "Same Girl"?

got milk?

Give milk. Give life.

We are so happy to announce that the Héma-Québec is now accepting donated breast milk! This mother’s milk bank will be reserved for very premature babies (32 weeks or less) who cannot be breastfed by their mothers. Nursing moms who decide to donate their milk will be helping these preemies recover their health and get them on the right track to a happy healthy childhood. I am so, so happy that Quebec has decided to implement this into our society! This is going to make such a huge difference in the lives of the premature babies and their families. Too many preemies die as a result of intestinal disease and being able to receive breast milk will make them three times less prone to developing this type of disease.

The Héma-Québec Mother’s Milk Bank will provide pasteurized human milk and nursing mothers will have to go through a screening process. So ladies, if you are in good health, are nursing, able to produce a surplus of milk and are a non-smoker consider giving milk! Give milk, give life.

Rachel Zoe - Family over Fashion

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week kicked off this morning in New York, and while in reality we’ve just begun shopping for spring, designers are already showing us what to expect for Fall 2014.

We’re excited to see new collections from designers like Diane Von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mischka, Herve Leger and plenty more, but one person we won’t be seeing this season? Our fave celebrity stylist, Rachel Zoe.

For the first time since her designer debut in 2011, Rachel Zoe will not be showing her name sake collection during New York Fashion Week. As crazy for fashion as we all know she is, there is one thing that will always top her priority list and that is her kids. With the recent birth of her second son, Kaius Jagger Berman just a few months ago in December, Rachel has decided that in the best interest of her family, she would not show her collection in New York this time around.

Zoe and her gorgeous family on Kaius Jagger`s first day of life.
(Could she have looked any more fabulous after having just given birth!?)

“While I look forward to New York Fashion Week each season, I’ve made the difficult decision to move our fall 2014 runway show from Feb. 13 in New York to a later date in Los Angeles. As a new mother, my newborn son is too young to travel with me and I’m unable to leave him for the amount of time required to appropriately prepare for the show in New York.”

While her signature ’60s-inspired bohemian chic looks will be missed on the runway, I have to say, I really respect Rachel for making this decision. It must have been a difficult one to make, but she surely knows where her priorities are, and that is with her family. This is definitely a dilemma we all face as working mothers, when trying to balance work and family life. I think both her family and her business will benefit from this decision as her young sons will have mommy at home when they need her most, and at the same time she will be able to adequately prepare a fabulous show later on in Los Angeles, instead of (pardon the expression) half-assing either situation. Sometimes difficult decisions have to be made in order to accommodate everyone`s best interest.

Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week show back in September.

What are some of the dilemmas you face as a working mom? Have you ever had to make a tough decision between work and family like Rachel did? Let us know in the comments.

PS. Loving the rock star theme of Rachel`s boys middle names - Morrison and Jagger (aka Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger). I`m also a little bias towards the name Jagger since my son shares the same name. :)

Meet Moana: Disney's Soon to be Princess

Word on the Disney Street is that we can expect to welcome a new princess come 2018. As a mom to two young boys, I am constantly watching Disney movies, even ones with princesses. We really love Jasmine, Mulan, Tiana and Merida – all strong and diverse women! I couldn’t be more excited to have a new princess in the lineup. The movie, as described on Bleeding Cool, will be an adventure across the islands of the South Pacific about 2000 years ago. Say what?! We’re getting another ethnically diverse princess? Hell yes! Moana will be a film set around a Polynesian sea-voyager and Chief’s daughter, who will be embarking on a journey to help her family. According to rumors the film will incorporate spirits and gods from historical Polynesian legends, a lot like the film Hercules did. Not only do I love that we are getting a Polynesian Princess, but a movie incorporating real historical stories and images is right up my alley and I’m excited for my kids to see it.

Fan Art of Moana from tumblr.com/search/moana

Moana will be directed by the same folks who brought us “The Little Mermaid”, “Aladdin” and “The Princess and the Frog”. John Musker and Ron Clements will team up to bring us this new film, and it will be their first digitally animated movie. I have no doubt that we will have another winner on our hands. There isn’t much else said about the project as the debut will only be in 2018,  but I can say that I am sure there will be a multitude of little girls (and parents) who will appreciate a new Disney Princess that will look just like them. I remember as a little girl watching “Aladdin” after seeing “Cinderella”, “Sleeping Beauty” and “Beauty and the Beast”, and being so happy that finally there was someone who looked just like me! Princess Jasmine was someone I could look up to; she has long flowing black hair, large almond eyes and curvier body (compared to Princesses before her). She was my ultimate idol! Thankfully since then we’ve welcomed Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana and Merida – all strong women who break the stereotypical princess mold and I can’t wait to see just how perfectly Moana will fit in with them!

Here is an unofficial picture that has been floating around online. Hopefully they will be releasing an official picture soon; I can’t wait to see what she looks like.

Note: This is not the official Disney release picture

Tell us… are you excited for a new diverse Disney Princess?

David Beckham Kids Collection x H&M

Hey Mamas! Did you catch David Beckham’s hot new H&M commercial during the superbowl last night to promote his latest collection of bodywear for the brand? If not, here it is, and if so, here it is again (because let’s face it, once just isn’t enough).

The action packed commercial was directed by Drive’s Nicolas Winding Refn who sees Beckham in his signature skivvies performing various stunts in an attempt to escape a rooftop.

“It was so exciting to work with one of my favorite directors, Nicolas Winding Refn, on my new campaign for H&M. Nicolas pushed me hard to create an action-packed film, which shows off this season’s new heritage-inspired bodywear at its best,” David said in a statement.

David’s new bodywear collection doesn’t come alone however! This month, H&M will debut the David Beckham Kids Collection. Much like the men’s collection the boys collection is inspired by David’s love of vintage sportswear with a heritage look featuring henleys, tanks, long johns, pajamas and boxer briefs in muted greys, navy, cream and red.

Seeing as David is a fashionable father of 3 beautiful boys (and one little girl), this new boys collection is the perfect next step in his collaboration with H&M, and I can’t wait to check it out! I would love to see our sons sporting his new collection. With often limited options for great boys clothes (in comparison to the multitude of options for girls), it’s especially exciting to see a boys only celebrity/designer collection. I also wouldn’t mind seeing some cute daddy/son matching outfits around the house.

What are your thoughts on the new kids collection? Can you see your boys wearing it?
